Scott graduated Otago University in 1999 and moved to Whakatane where he completed his registration to become a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor in 2003. Shortly after registration Scott move overseas to gain experience. He worked in the United Kingdom for the next 3 and half years as a site engineer and surveyor setting out high rise commercial buildings, bridges, railways, roads and the London underground infrastructure. In 2007 Scott returned to Whakatane where he now specializes in surveying and land development.
